This is a deep subject. So let's start with the Hebrew word pictures revealed through these two names:
Yah: is a picture of hands raised and waving, "hey, over here, see me"! For the invisible Elohiym is getting our attention, so that humanity can come to know Divinity.
Yah literally means: "HE IS", the self existent one. He is the singular I AM, of the I AM that I AM as found in Ex 3:14. Yah is the Great I AM, as found many times in the New Testament. Yah is the Living word of YHWH. And Yah is used almost exclusively in the Hebrew Scriptures in conjunction with Salvation. Which is probably why Rev 19:1 reads: Hallelu-Yah Salvation, ... Hallelu-Yah Yeshua
The name of Yah is proclaimed universally, howbeit, ignorantly, through the phrase "Hallelu-Yah", or "Praise Yah". And many souls have received the baptism of the Set Apart Spirit while shouting "Hallelu-Yah" . Truly it has been esteemed the highest word of praise, and for good reason.
Yeshua: reveals the picture of something bright, glowingly obvious, and flowing. For Yeshua the man is the manifest image of Yah, who reveals the invisible Yah to the world. And is also the place from which all must turn to receive the Living Waters of YHWH.
Thus Yeshua literally means: "He will save" his people from their sins. MT 1:21
Almost 40 years ago, I was taught that these names were compounded in the English name "Jesus"! I tried for many years to prove this. It could not be proven!
There are many reasons for the two distinct names, but the most important is because Yah is a jealous Elohiym, and adamantly refuses to share his glory, even with his own body.
What is most important to us believers, is that Elohiym has given us His name, by which to draw near to Him. And by which to wear as a garment of salvation, our wedding garment. Don't allow the anti-christ, past or future, to take His full name away from you.
And May YHWH bless and keep you in the name of His Son Yah Yeshua!
